Sharing your poster on the C-MOOR forum
Why should I share my poster?
It puts your research out there for other students and instructors to find. This can help future classes better understand how to develop their poster and also shares your contributions with the broader scientific community.
Instructions
Part 1: Prepare your poster for public posting

Check your poster for the following:
The logo of your institution
The C-MOOR logo
Any other logos of relevant groups (ask your instructor)
Part 2: Save your poster as a .png or .jpeg on your local computer**
Google Slides
- Go to File > Download > select PNG image or JPEG image.
- Locate the downloaded file on your computer. By default, most computers will download files to the “Download” folder or the Desktop.
PowerPoint
- Enter the File tab to the top of the window, to the left of the Home tab
- Select Save As
- Select This PC
- In the field underneath the file name, select the *.png or *.jpg format
- Select save
- Located the saved file on your computer. By default, most computers will save the file in the same location as the original PowerPoint (.pptx) file.
Part 3: Making a post on the C-MOOR forum

Login to the C-MOOR forum if you haven’t already done so.

Enter the Look at This! category.

Click New Topic in the top right area of the window. A new popup should appear at the bottom of the window.

In the Title Box use this format: – Poster by
-
Tag the post with your institution, the curriculum (ex. RNA-seq, 16S), and the semester and year of the class (ex. Spring 2025)

Using the upload button, upload your poster from wherever it is stored on your local computer. A preview of the poster should appear on the right side of the window. It is very important that the resolution displays all material clearly. If the resolution is not clear, please check the resolution on the original Google Slides or Powerpoint file.
Part 4: Reflection
- In the text box to the left, answer your choice of 2 of the following 5 questions, with the question included in bold as part of the post. Your answers should be specific and refer directly to your research poster:
- What was your favorite part about doing the research project and why?
- What was something about your project or the research process that surprised you and why?
- What is one specific skill in biology and/or research that you learned through this project? Give an example how you used this in your project.
- What is an example of a challenge that you had to overcome during this research project?
- What is one thing you learned from this project that you can take forward in your future work? How do you see it being helpful in your chosen field?
- Check over the post on the right side of the window. Note that the bold will show on the right side, but not the left (where it will appear as ** Text **)
- Click Create Topic to post!
